The public is invited to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony this Friday, 10:30 a.m. to celebrate the opening of our newly constructed tennis courts at the Recreational Park.
The nearly year-long project, which entailed a complete rebuild with improved engineering, was partially funded with a State and Municipalities Facilities (SAM) Grant.
“The new courts are terrific; transforming the deteriorated, unplayable surfaces into a beautiful addition to our Town’s facilities. This is a continuation of our efforts over the last couple of years to reconstruct much of our Recreational Park. Previous projects included rehabbing athletic fields and repairs to buildings and other infrastructure.
A complete rebuild of the playgrounds to accommodate individuals of all abilities is slated for the Spring of 2019. With these initiatives, Red Hook will continue to be an ideal home for families of all ages. We’re fortunate to have funding for these projects without the need to raise taxes. Many thanks to our Recreational Director and Commission for their work on this initiative and all of our recreational programs and facilities.”
