Come learn more Wednesday 5/4 at the Red Hook Public Library, 6:00-6:30pm in the Community Room (3rd floor)!
The Town of Red Hook is excited to offer a new composting service at the Recycling Center. Residents may bring their household compost to the Recycling Center at no cost beginning April 30, 2022.

What is accepted?
- Food scraps
- Fruit and vegetable peels
- Bones
- Coffee filters
NOT ACCEPTED: Plastic, utensils, foil, paper/cardboard
Why Compost?
- Reduce landfill waste by 30%

Can I line my compost bucket?
Yes, you may add a brown paper bag as a liner, but please no plastic or green compostable bags. Alternatively, you can leave it liner-free and rinse & dry between uses!
